Maggie's Oxford, based at the Churchill Hospital,is open Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4pm and provides information, psychological and emotional support to anyone affected by cancer. This is the local branch of the Oesophageal Patients Association which aims to help patients and their families/carers to cope with the effects and difficulties arising as a result of treatment on the oesophagus (gullet) or stomach. They offer telephone and one to one support, the opportunity to speak to other patients who have had similar experiences Patients and family members/ carers are also welcome to attend informal support meetings at the Churchill hospital.
