Thank you for accessing this discussion forum. We hope that you find it useful and an enjoyable and useful way for you to interact with other people in a similar situation to you in order to share experiences and gain support.

This forum has been set up because people diagnosed with kidney cancer across the Thames Valley felt they would like additional support in the form of an interactive web based group. We are always open to additional ideas. All input and ideas are warmly welcomed! Your feedback is always welcome too. You will need to register to participate in the forum discussions. Registration is free and open to anyone with an interest in kidney cancer. Register now.

KIDNEY CANCER FORUM GUIDELINES

Please read our guidelines before you register with our discussion forum. If you would like to participate in this forum you need to comply with our guidelines to ensure that the forum remains a safe and supportive place where information, experiences and advice can be shared. The aim of this site is to increase the support that patients with kidney cancer and their families receive. We hope this site will be a useful resource.

- The forum welcomes anyone diagnosed with kidney cancer in the Thames Valley Cancer Network, including family members, partners and friends.

- The site should be used as a means of support and should facilitate the sharing of ideas, experiences and feelings felt at any stage of the kidney cancer pathway.

- We recommend that you use a nickname rather than your real name and avoid posting personal details such as your email address or your telephone number.

- Although this site has initially been set up to support patients with a kidney cancer in the Thames Valley Network the forum can be accessed by anyone who chooses to register with the site. The discussions that you have will also be able to be viewed by anyone who logs into the forum. Only people who have registered can participate in discussions.


We would appreciate it if you could comply with the following guidelines:

  1. Respect and value each others views
  2. Use language that is respectful of others
  3. Please attempt to discuss topics under the correct headings. If you feel you wish to discuss a new topic then please start a new thread.
  4. This site and its content should be treated as confidential material and should not be quoted without expressed permission of the author. 
  5. The replies you receive will not be from health professionals located in the Thames Valley Cancer Network but from patients with kidney cancer and their family members. If you do have any queries about the advice you receive then please contact your uro-oncology specialist nurse or your Oncology Consultant.
  6. If you have any urgent concerns about your health then please do not solely express your health concerns on this site without contacting the relevant health professional i.e. GP, Oncology Consultant or Specialist Nurse.

The operator of the site maintains the right to remove any material from the site felt to be inaccurate/offensive or inappropriate.
